Richmond Kickers and Poseidon Swimming

Regional Sports Complex. Positive Youth Development.

Our vision is that children from the entire region representing each socio-economic group
and every ethnic population will have the opportunity to play soccer in their community or
swim in an Olympic-size pool. Both the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club and Poseidon
Swimming are committed to providing sports opportunities for children and families,
Bill Gates regardless of their financial situation. Realizing the dream to build the sports complex allows us to serve an increased number of disadvantaged children.

Organized sports can play an important role in the healthy
development of children. Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club
and Poseidon Swimming share values that guide them as they go
about helping young people strengthen their character as well as
their bodies. Pursuit of personal excellence, goal setting,
teamwork, and sportsmanship in a challenging yet fun
environment provide the foundation on which programs are built.

Research supports this philosophy. According to the Search Institute, a well-respected
source of research on positive child and adolescent development, a child's future success
can be positively influenced by daily exposure to "Developmental Assets". These assets
are important during the developmental years, influencing choices young people make and
helping them become caring, responsible adults.
